Iowa supports digital ID through the Iowa Mobile ID app as well as Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet.

  1. 1Open the Wallet app on your iPhone (iOS 15.4 or later required).
  2. 2Tap the + button and choose 'Driver's License or State ID'.
  3. 3Select Iowa from the state list.
  4. 4Scan the front and back of your Iowa driver's license or ID card.
  5. 5Complete the face and motion scan to verify your identity.
  6. 6Your request is sent to the Iowa DOT. You'll receive a notification once approved — usually within a few minutes.

  1. 1Open Google Wallet on your Android device.
  2. 2Tap + and select 'ID documents', then 'Driver's license or state ID'.
  3. 3Choose Iowa.
  4. 4Scan the front and back of your Iowa driver's license or ID.
  5. 5Complete the selfie step to verify your identity.
  6. 6The Iowa DOT will process and approve your digital ID within a few minutes.

  5. 5Your Mobile ID will be available in the app once approved by the Iowa DOT.
